Governor Doug Ducey has proclaimed January 2018 “Manufactured Housing Month,” celebrating an industry that provides affordable homes that are safe, comfortable, durable, and quality built for approximately 314,000 families in the state of Arizona.
According to manufactured housing industry statistics, Arizona families purchased over 4,200 new and preowned manufactured homes last year. Over 2,500 businesses in the industry currently provide jobs to over 5,000 employees in the state.
“This proclamation highlights the success of manufactured housing in Arizona, and the economic and quality-of-life impact it has on Arizona’s families,” said Ken Anderson, President of the Manufactured Housing Industry of Arizona. MHIA is a Tempe, AZ based trade organization representing the state’s factory-built and manufactured housing industry.

I bought a pre-owned manufactured home (built in 1999) in Tonopah in July 2016. It’s 1,630 sq. ft. 3 bdrms. The Master suite has a walk-in closet. There are 2 full baths, a huge living room = 22 x 40 and a very large laundry room. It’s on 3 acres and it was only $120,k. I’ve had hardwood floors put in the kitchen and dining room and new carpet throughout the rest. I’ve also had the entire property cleared, leveled and fenced and solar panels put on the roof. It is now valued at $147,k.
I call it My Retirement Oasis where my 3 children, 9 grand children and 3 great grand children can visit. I’ve owned and sold 3 mobile homes and wished I had know about manufactured homes before.
We have a manufactured home in Mesa we just love it, We moved here in 2015 and it’s the best move we ever made we enjoy it so much.
I purchased my first Manufactured Home in March, 2015, and started living in my first 55+ community at the same time. Introducing McGavin Ranch, my forever home. Then, by some higher power, I was hired to start selling the beautiful homes in McGavin Ranch, which I did, and continue to do. Then, by the same or another higher power, I started managing McGavin Ranch in August, 2015, and as they say, “The rest is history”. Never, have I had such a wonderful life, both personally and professionally. McGavin Ranch is in East Mesa, AZ. We are tucked away off of the main street so many don’t know about us, which is really a shame. We opened in 2002, have 179 permanent home sites, and approximately 250 Residents. We are a very active 55+ community and are truly like a family. I love it here and so will you. Call me for more information at 480-294-3100, Earleen, Community Manager.
