Today’s Manufactured Home – Not the Trailer We Remember

From tiny homes to beachfront vacation homes, family-friendly campground cabins, and upscale glamping retreats, and even the average 3-bedroom 2-bath house in your neighborhood, today’s manufactured homes aren’t the same trailers we remember. Factory-built homes are built to the exact construction codes, standards, and quality level as site-built houses and offer a wide selection of options, finishes, and technology to fit every type of family and budget.

As consumers search for affordable and quality alternatives to site-built homes in Arizona, the demand for manufactured homes is projected to continue for many years to come. Due to this high demand, members of the Manufactured Housing Industry of Arizona (MHIA) are looking for reliable, results-driven, quality-minded individuals interested in building a long-term, financially rewarding career in the manufactured housing industry.

Build a Dream. Build a Home. Build a Future.

Homeownership is part of the American dream for many individuals. A career in the manufactured housing industry will provide the right candidate the opportunity to help this dream come true. Being part of the manufactured housing industry is more than a job. You will be part of building a home – the place where cherished family memories will be created and shared. At the same time, you will build your future by taking advantage of the many career opportunities and earning potential available in the industry.

Earn While You Learn Career Opportunities – No Previous Experience Required

Unlike many other industries and construction trades, success in the manufactured housing industry doesn’t depend on previous experience. Manufacturer members provide the training you need to be successful in various trades, including electrical, plumbing, roofing, carpentry, drywall, and many more. To be successful in this industry, you only need to possess the following qualities:

  • Reliability – Show up to work each day on time and with a good attitude – even on days you just don’t feel like getting out of bed.
  • Quality Minded – Take pride in your work. We are building part of the American dream – these families deserve the best homes we can build.

    • Hustle – This work isn’t for the faint of heart. If you like sitting at a desk all day, this job isn’t for you! A typical workday involves being on your feet all day, lifting, bending, squatting – being physically active. You won’t need to pay for a gym membership anymore!
    • Team Player – As the saying goes, there is no “I” in the word “TEAM.” Members of the industry enjoy working in a team environment. Team members are willing to pitch in where needed and dig a little deeper to help the team hit its daily/weekly production goals.

All manufacturers require candidates to be at least 18 years old to apply.

If you have previous construction experience, that’s a plus. Many current industry members previously worked in the construction industry but found the manufactured housing industry to be a better fit for their personal & professional needs. Unlike site construction, the manufactured housing industry:

    • Doesn’t require team members to drive to the different job site each week which save them time and gas money!
    • Provides fully or semi-climate-controlled work environments. Most manufacturing of factory-built home construction takes place under roof, shielding employees from direct exposure to the elements – like the blazing Arizona sun.
    • No loss of pay due to seasonal shutdowns or inclement weather events. Since the construction of factory-built homes takes place in a manufacturing plant and is protected from the elements, weather events seldom shut down production.
    • Opportunity to learn multiple trades – The manufactured housing industry provides you with the opportunity to cross-train and develop skills and experience in various trades under one roof; no previous experience required!
